I’ve had my share of sand kicked in my face but I’ve come through

“I’ve had my share of sand kicked in my face but I’ve come through” – We Are The Champions – Queen.  This song was written solely by Queen’s iconic frontman, Freddie Mercury and somewhat chronicles Queen’s chaotic rise to superstardom as a rock band.  The song was also inspired by the sport of football (American: soccer) and has gone on to be played in stadiums all over the world.

YOU, my friend, are alive (don’t check your pulse), You’re reading this.  I’m sure you’ve had your own moments of “sand kicked in your face” but you persevered and are living and here today.  There will always be times where you don’t feel good enough.  There will always be situations where you will feel like you’re not good enough, or you face rejection, or someone else steals your spot.  Friends will take business that should have been yours, you will be decimated by something or someone.  Stephanie McMahon of WWE fame is quoted as saying “Everything you want is on the other side of fear.”  She was inspired to create that quote based on Eleanor Roosevelt’s quote “Do something you’re afraid of every day.”  Fear and being afraid is the sand being kicked in your face.  If you don’t stand up and conquer the sand, and realize “it’s just sand”, then you won’t have lived life as fully as you possibly could have, and that would be a shame because you, my friend, are a CHAMPION.  Those are #LyricsToLiveLifeBy.
